Santa Barbara’s MedBridge launches surgical concierge service Kinese

IN THIS ARTICLE

Santa Barbara-based ambulatory surgery center developer MedBridge launched a new health care service that connects patients with surgeons.

Kinese is described as a surgical concierge service that’s rolling out in Santa Barbara, Beverly Hills and San Francisco. It provides immediate access to surgeons and facilities, bypassing expensive and ambiguous costs, waitlists and limited access to new treatments, the company said.

“Geography, insurance coverage and managed care contracts have been a constant constraint on many patients,” MedBridge President and CEO Dave Odell said in a news release. “Kinese allows international patients to connect with best-in-class U.S. surgeons and facilities, as well as allows domestic patients to receive this same high-quality care without having to leave the country. Our goal is to disrupt the current bureaucracy that healthcare has become worldwide and put control back in the hands of the patient.”

Kinese provides transparent pricing prior to the surgery, offering a cash pay rate for all procedures. In addition to coordinating treatment, it also features travel and hotel accommodations.
