Santa Barbara startup Anchore completed a $5 million funding round, the company announced Oct. 4.

Serial entrepreneur Saïd Ziouani launched the company April 6. It provides a portal for software containers used in IT software app development by software developers and system administration teams.

The company was founded with $2 million in seed funding from Doug Carlisle, managing director of Menlo Ventures, and Andreas von Blottnitz, managing director of e-Ventures.

Carlisle also co-led this round, the company said in a news release.

In 2013, Ziouani founded Ansible in Santa Barbara. Ansible allowed companies with large data centers or small data centers to be able to manage their infrastructure more effectively and easily.

Last October, Ziouani sold the Durham-based IT automation company for $150 million to Raleigh, N.C.-based Red Hat.
