About: Champions in Health Care has a new twist for 2013 — we are adding a single theme to the nomination process and in addition to honoring them, we will be asking each of our Champions to participate in a panel discussion at our awards event in June.
Our theme this year is: “Bending the Cost Curve: Partnerships for Affordable Care.” Our theme speaks to one of the key elements of Affordable Care Act, which becomes law next year. Partnerships can be across geographic lines, industry lines or within an organization. The Business Times is seeking nominations for awards and panelists in eight categories:
• Champion CEO or top executive
• Champion Philanthropist
• Volunteer Champion
• Research Champion
• Education Champion
• Champion of Medicine (Physician, RN)
• Primary Care Champion
• Champion of Design (Architect, engineer, contractor)
• Grand Champion
Nominations will be judged on the strength of the applicant, his or her experience and their history of forging successful partnerships to make health care more accessible and affordable in the region.
