Fielding president to retire next year
Judith L. Kuipers, president of Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, has announced she is retiring in June 2009.
Kuipers has served as president of the university since 2000.
An endowment campaign for the university has been established in her honor, and a prominent academic executive search firm has been selected to conduct the search for Kuipers’ successor.
Prior to her Fielding presidency, she served for 10 years as chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Previous academic leadership positions were at California State University, Fresno, and Oregon State University.
Her doctorate in human development and early education is from Michigan State University.
She was an American Council on Education Fellow and a Fulbright Award winner.
