Cuesta College sued

IN THIS ARTICLE

Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo is being sued by Straub Constuction for $3.2 million for allegedly breaching its contract with the company.

Straub Construction, which worked on the school’s library expansion, alleges that during the $13.2 million construction project, Cuesta failed to cooperate or provide correct and buildable plans and failed to pay on time and for the costs incurred in excess of those required by the contract.

The school’s board of trustees rejected the law suit and said that paying the $3.2 million would devastate its budget and force it to take out a loan to pay for the claim, according to published reports.
