The way commercial brokers do business is changing.
Drops in demand and sales volume have persuaded more and more industry professionals to use Web sites to list and market their properties, and one tri-county broker appears to be leading the way.
The National Association of Realtors featured Jason Hart, owner-broker of Hart Commercial Real Estate in San Luis Obispo, as an expert on the topic in its March publication of Realtor magazine.
The article focused on Hart’s experience in marketing commercial real estate through the use of commercial information exchanges.
“Being a small, boutique commercial real estate firm, it’s nice to be recognized nationally with these other large commercial firms,” Hart said. “This industry can be viewed sometimes as an old boys’ network; however, young tech-savvy professionals like me have had more and more success in recent years due to the need to understand how to best market our clients’ properties through these Web-based … listing sites.”
