A fix for fairgrounds
Ventura County Fairgrounds folks have pushed back hard against Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s plan to sell off the fairgrounds to the highest bidder.
But attention focused on this prized piece of real estate does raise a multi-million dollar question: What is the future of one of the most valuable pieces of oceanfront property in the Pacific Coast?
It’s clear to anybody who’s spent any time at the fairgrounds in recent years that this is an underutilized asset. Whether its future is as a public access point or a private development site, it would be a shame to accept the status quo without exploring options for the future.
