Cal Poly coaches startup entrepreneurs

It’s not summer camp, or summer school for that matter. It’s business bootcamp. And they’ve got some of the most successful industry leaders coming back to drill them.

IQuest-to-IQueue, a new summer program at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is geared at helping young entrepreneurs get their companies off the ground. The program, which started on July 3, is a continuation of Innovation Quest, a business plan competition started by successful Cal Poly alumni and the university.

For six consecutive Fridays this summer, business leaders such as Innovation Quest co-founder, Cal Poly alum and former Cisco Systems’ executive Carson Cheng come back to work with Innovation Quest participants one-on-one.
“Some of us have started very successful businesses or been very successful in the business world, and yet we still feel that connection and can’t help but come back to work with the next generation of entrepreneurs,” Cheng said.
