The Los Angeles District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration appointed Victor Parker as its new director on Oct. 24.

Parker now heads up the SBA district that administers small-business loans for Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. The office is the largest of the administration’s districts in the U.S., as ranked by loan volume. The Los Angeles office manages a loan portfolio that financed more than 2,477 businesses with $1.6 billion in loans, he SBA said.

Parker brings more than 15 years in management  experience to the position, the SBA said. He was recently the division managing director at Myers Stevens Group. He is a Los Angeles resident and serves on the board of directors of Community Development
Centers.

Parker received his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and his law degree from Pepperdine University.
