Museum of Ventura County CEO Pattie Mullins announced July 11 that she has accepted the position of CEO at Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties.

Describing herself as a “serial volunteer” and a lifelong learner, Mullins owned her own home-based business prior to joining the museum in April of 2015. She has previously worked with the Girl Scouts of California Central Coast and served on the boards of Kids and Families Together and the American Cancer Society.

Having lived in Ventura County for 25 years, Mullins’ tenure saw the opening of the Chumash-themed children’s garden and a focus on experiential learning and community engagement.

“Although I am extremely excited about working with such an important organization, the decision to leave the museum was a very difficult one for me,” Mullins said in an email to the Business Times. “The museum is a wonderful place and I know it will continue to present great exhibits and programs.”

She also asked community partners to continue their support of the museum, its board and staff.

Mullins leaves the museum July 27. Plans for a replacement or interim CEO are pending.
