Santa Barbara eco-friendly moving and storage company Movegreen announced its acquisition of Anaheim-based Apollo Moving and Storage, adding operations in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and North San Diego counties.

The expansion follows the acquisition of Sheeler Moving and Storage in December, 2014, which doubled the company’s size at the time. Currently the third largest regional moving company, according to Business Times research, Movegreen has 35 employees and revenues of $3 million annually but expects to add 10-15 additional hires and grow to $4 million in 2017. Its service vehicle and truck fleet has reached 20.

“We’ve seen so much growth over the past couple of years and knew it was time to expand our reach,” founder and CEO Erik Haney said in a news release, adding that Apollo had a long track record of service in the area. “Orange County is a wonderful area and we are confident our company will be a great fit for the community.”

The company did not disclose financial terms of the deal, which will take effect March 13. The company has won various awards for its environmental efforts that include biodiesel and hybrid vehicles, using recycled materials and its work with nonprofit Trees for the Future.
