The Ventura County Lodging Association announced a change in leadership Aug. 3, as Executive Director Rebekah Evans steps down effective Aug. 25.

“It has truly been my privilege to help grow the Tourism Business Improvement District for the cities of Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo and Port Hueneme!” Evans wrote in her farewell letter. She later said she will be heading up the nonprofit marketing agency Visit Placer County as its new CEO.

“You can continue to expect the same commitment and dedication that I have shown for the past four years with the additional support of the incredible staff and dedicated board of directors.”

A search for a new executive director for the nonprofit travel and tourism association will begin next week, said board Chairman Victor Dollar, who will be heading up the effort.
