Fess Parker to be renamed Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort

The Fess Parker — A Doubletree by Hilton Resort will be renamed the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort after a two-part renovation beginning in October.

The first phase of renovations will update guest rooms, the lobby, the Roundhouse Restaurant and Java Del Mar, and the second phase will include meeting spaces such as the site’s ballrooms and meeting rooms, according to a news release Sept. 26. Guest room renovations will occur in stages so that the resort will remain open to guests throughout.

The property has been jointly owned the Fess Parker family and Park Hotels since Jan. 1, when the real estate company was spun off from Hilton.

“We are fortunate to have an operating partner in Hilton, whose properties around the globe are synonymous with the highest standards and service for their guests,” Eli and Ashley Parker, son and daughter of Fess Parker, said in a statement. “We are certain that our father would be proud to know that the world-class resort that he envisioned for Santa Barbara — and then proceeded to build 30 years ago — will see its potential fully maximized in its new incarnation as a Hilton Hotels & Resorts branded property.”

“We are thrilled to be a part of the legacy of the Fess Parker family and this magical seaside property,” said Joe Berger, area president for the Americas at Hilton. “Besides the magnificent views and location, the newly renovated hotel is poised to redefine the guest experience under our flagship brand, Hilton Hotels & Resorts.”
