Available retail space on State Street growing

IN THIS ARTICLE

There are twice as many available retail spaces on State Street than there were in 2015 and available retail square footage has almost tripled since 2016, according to speakers at the 10th annual Radius Real Estate and Economic Forecast at the Fess Parker — A Doubletree by Hilton Resort on Nov 1.

The event featured presentations by some of Radius’ principals and Chris Thornberg, an economist and founding partner at Beacon Economics, LLC.

Thornberg focused on the larger factors affecting the region’s economy.

He said people in the Tri-Counties are worried about the wrong things in that most are worried about the number of jobs in the region when they should be worried about the number of workers.

In the same way, he said too many people are worried about the price of California housing when they should be worried about the supply of California housing.
