Winners of the 2018 Central Coast Innovation Awards announced

The Pacific Coast Business Times is pleased to announce our 2018 winners of the Central Coast Innovation Awards. This annual special section, now in its third year, published with the Feb. 23 print edition. A two-part event on Thursday, March 15 begins with Startup Village and concludes with an evening awards reception for the honorees at the Hotel Californian in downtown Santa Barbara. This special section honors some of the most innovative companies and organizations in the Tri-Counties. Here are the honorees for this year’s Central Coast Innovation Awards:

Patagonia Works, honored for its Worn Wear project and its environmental activism initiatives

• NO BOUNDARIES AWARD

Paso Pacífico, awarded for its innovative work in combating illegal sea turtle poaching

• TECHNOLOGIST OF THE YEAR

Jon Walker, chief technology officer and co-founder of AppFolio, a publicly traded SaaS company with more than $1.3 billion in market cap

• MOST DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGY

GeoLinks, a Camarillo-based telecom company that has been producing triple-digit revenue growth

• AGRIBUSINESS

Terry Farms, and owner Edgar Terry, are recognized for leading the way in innovation for the ag industry

• HEALTH CARE

Active Life Scientific, honored for changing the game in bone density testing

• NEXT LEVEL HONOREE

SerImmune, a UC Santa Barbara startup recognized for finding a new way to map antibodies
