Contour Airlines will begin flights to Las Vegas four times a week out of the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport on Oct. 17.

This is the airline’s first time in SLO, according to a June 26 news release, which announced the new nonstop flight. It already offers a nonstop Las Vegas flight out of Santa Barbara Municipal Airport.

“The San Luis Obispo community has asked for direct access to Las Vegas for years, and we’re thrilled to finally be able to deliver,” said Airport Director Kevin Bumen. “Adding a new destination, as well as a new airline, is an incredible success for the entire region.”

The flights will be offered on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday. The 80-minute flight is scheduled to leave Las Vegas mid-morning and return from SLO in the early afternoon. To kick off the new service, Contour will offer introductory one-way fares starting at $99.

“Las Vegas has been a tremendously successful market for Contour and I am certain our new service to San Luis Obispo will be no different,” said CEO Matt Chaifetz, in the release.

Contour will operate a 30-seat Embraer ERJ-135 aircraft between the two cities with expanded legroom, complimentary snacks and beverages and a free checked bag included with every fare. Tickets for the Las Vegas flights are available for purchase at contourairlines.com.
