Monica White, the president and CEO of Food Share of Ventura County, has been named chair of the board of the California Association of Food Banks.
White has been Food Share’s top executive since she joined the Oxnard-based nonprofit in 2017. Under her leadership the food bank has helped feed more people than ever, providing more than 21.6 million meals last year, nearly double its previous record, set in 2019. Food Share has gone from providing food for about 75,000 people per month before the COVID-19 pandemic to around 140,000 per month now.
The California Association of Food Banks has 41 member food banks in the state. White has been on the group’s board of directors for the past three years, including terms as vice chair of the executive committee and chair of the governance and membership committee.
