Marty Plourd named board chair for California Bankers Association

Marty Plourd, the president of Community West Bank since 2011, has assumed the role of 2025-2026 chair of the California Bankers Association as of June 1.

Plourd assumes the role of chair from Krista Snelling, president and CEO of West Coast Community Bank.

Plourd assumes the role with more than 30 years of banking experience to the role. He began his banking career with Security Pacific Bank in 1981.

Plourd has spent the last 12 years at Community West, where in 2024, the bank completed its merger with Central Valley Community Bank in a deal that created the resulting company with total assets of approximately $3.5 billion and retains the banking offices of both banks.

“I am honored to be named chair of the board of directors for the California Bankers Association,” said Plourd. “This is a pivotal time for the banking sector, and I am eager to champion our members, enhance our community, and help ensure that our members fully utilize the vital resources offered by the association.”

President and CEO of California Bankers Association Kevin Gould said Plourd is “an exceptional leader.”
“His enthusiastic engagement as a board member, coupled with his valuable input in several CBA committees and working groups, underscores his dedication and commitment to our mission,” he said.
