The Colleges of Law in Santa Barbara and Ventura has a new dean.

Brandy Price, who served as interim dean for two months, has accepted the permanent dean position as well as the chief academic officer post.

Price’s appointment was announced on LinkedIn by the school’s president, Matthew Nehmer, last month and reported by the Business Times then.

Price’s elevation at the colleges was formally announced in a press release Sept. 4.

“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to step into the role,” Price, 52, told the Business Times Sept. 4.

“I’ve been with the Colleges of Law for about five and a half years in various roles and this feels like the perfect next step,” she said.

“I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity,” Price added.

Nehmer said in the press release that Price “is a trusted and proven leader whose deep understanding of our students, faculty, and programs makes her uniquely qualified to lead The Colleges of Law’s academic enterprise.

“She has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student success that will continue to carry us forward,” he said.

It was also announced Sept. 4 that The Colleges of Law will relocate its hybrid J.D. residency from its Ventura location to Pasadena beginning fall 2025.

The residency will take place at Pacific Oaks College.
