A San Luis Obispo man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly posting on social media that he was going to “blow up every synagogue in a 20-mile radius.”

Elijah Alexander King was indicted on three counts, including false information regarding fire and explosives, threats by interstate communication and false information and hoaxes.

The indictment was filed in U.S. District Court Nov. 19.

It’s not the only charges King faces.

The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office has charged King with making a felony false bomb threat.

The charge includes a hate crime sentencing enhancement.

King allegedly posted the threat on X Aug. 28.

The indictment said he posted that he was going to “blow up every synagogue in a 20-mile radius.”

King was arrested by San Luis Obispo police Oct. 24.

Police said King also posted, “This is a real threat, call the police and report me for terrorism.”

Police had been alerted about the post on Aug. 28 by the Western States Information Network, and began an investigation that led to King’s arrest.

The network is a law enforcement entity that provides criminal intelligence to other law enforcement agencies.

X, formerly Twitter, removed the post for violating the platform’s terms of service.
