Earnings roundup
A slew of tri-county public companies have reported earnings over the past trading week. Here is a breakdown of the companies’ latest financial statements.
ATARA BIO
Thousand Oaks-based Atara Biotherapeutics, a pre-revenue biotechnology company, reported financial results for the second quarter of 2026 and business updates on Aug. 12.
Atara reported a net loss of $4.8 million, or a basic and diluted loss per share of 32 cents, for the second quarter 2026, as compared to net income of $2.4 million, or basic earnings per share of 20 cents and diluted earnings per share of 19 cents, for the same period in 2025.
Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments as of June 30 totaled $9.9 million, as compared to $8.4 million as of March 31.
Atara expects that its cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments, combined with operating efficiencies achieved in 2025 and the first half of 2026, will be sufficient to fund planned operations into mid-2027.
On May 7, Atara announced that it had a “productive meeting” with the FDA to find a potential path forward to resubmitting the tab-cel Biologics License Application.
In the May 7 meeting, the FDA agreed that a single-arm study using an appropriate historical control applicable to the trial population, conducted in a pre-specified manner, could serve as an adequate and well-controlled study and provide safety and efficacy data in support of a future marketing application of tab-cel for the proposed indication.
Atara stock closed at $9.60 on Aug. 19, a 12% rise over the last five trading days.
ARCUTIS

Moreover, net income was $15 million, or 11 cents per basic and diluted share, for the quarter compared to a net loss of $15.9 million, or 13 cents per basic and diluted share, for the corresponding period in 2025, as continued sales growth exceeded increases in operating expenses.
