Kite Pharma relocating to Thousand Oaks
Santa Monica-headquartered Kite Pharma is relocating its home office to two locations in Thousand Oaks and El Segundo.
The company, which specializes in engineered cell therapy to treat and cure cancer, says in a LinkedIn post that the move will be made at the end of 2026.
Kite will be the latest addition to the Conejo Valley’s growing biotech sector centered in Thousand Oaks and anchored by life sciences giant Amgen.
The cluster includes about 20 other life sciences firms, primarily in Thousand Oaks, including Atara Biotherapeutics, Capsida Biotherapeutics, Latigo Biotherapeutics and Tokyo-based Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
Founded in 2009, Kite was acquired by Gilead Sciences in 2017 for $11.9 billion and operates as an independent subsidiary.
It has another facility in Oceanside and operations in Maryland and Europe.
