Banking roundup: Golden 1 expands business offerings; WCC announces uplist
Golden 1 Credit Union is expanding its business offerings, now providing services with business checking, savings and money market accounts at the core of a growing suite of services designed to support California businesses.
Announced Sept. 15, the expansion is meant to deepen Golden 1’s commitment to entrepreneurs, sole proprietors, micro and small businesses, nonprofits and community builders across California, while broadening the resources available to businesses throughout the state.
Golden 1 is based in Sacramento, but has several branches throughout the Central Coast, including two in San Luis Obispo County, one in Santa Barbara County and about four co-op branches in Ventura County. With more than $22 billion in assets, Golden 1 Credit Union is one of the largest credit unions in the United States.
As part of its expanded Business Services offerings, Golden 1 provides ACH and wire services, along with digital banking tools that help businesses manage their everyday banking needs, according to the press release. Business members also have access to Merchant Services through Clover and Payroll Services through Paychex.

West Coast Community Bancorp, the parent company of West Coast Community Bank, announced that its common stock has been approved for listing on the Nasdaq Stock Market LLC.
The company’s common stock, which previously traded on the OTCQX Best Market under the ticker symbol “WCCB,” began trading on Nasdaq under the same ticker symbol at the opening of the market on Sept. 16. Shares closed at $60.25 on Sept. 22.
The company’s shares have traded publicly since 2004. Trading was previously conducted under the SCZC ticker symbol on OTC markets until the bank was renamed West Coast Community Bank in 2025 and the ticker symbol was changed to WCCB. The shares subsequently traded on the OTCQX Best Market.
Founded in 2004, West Coast Community Bank is the wholly owned subsidiary of West Coast Community Bancorp, a bank holding company. The bank is headquartered in Santa Cruz, with branches in Aptos, Capitola, King City, Monterey, Salinas, San Jose, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley and Watsonville.
In August, West Coast Community Bank, which has about $3 billion in assets, announced the launch of its Private Banking division, expanding the bank’s presence in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Peninsula with a team dedicated to providing a high-touch banking experience designed around each client’s financial goals.
Leading the new division are Janice Miyatake and Wyman Wong, both joining as senior vice presidents and directors of private banking.
The private banking division will offer customized deposit solutions, business and commercial real estate lending and treasury management services. Through dedicated relationship managers, private banking clients will have access to tailored banking solutions backed by local decision-making and relationship-based service.
Miyatake will be based in Silicon Valley and brings extensive experience cultivating relationships with business owners and professionals throughout the region. Wong will be based on the Peninsula and joins West Coast Community Bank from First Citizens Bank, where he served with SVB Private following First Citizens’ acquisition of Silicon Valley Bank.
