Latigo Bio IPO exceeds expectations

IN THIS ARTICLE

Thousand Oaks-based Latigo Biotherapuetics became the latest Central Coast-based company to hit the stock market and did so in style with a better than expected raise.

Latigo, a biotech company developing non-opioid pain medicines, blew away expectations after going public on Aug. 6, raising $345.6 million in its upsized listing.

Originally, the company expected to offer 16 million shares between $16 and $18 apiece. In the final offering, Latigo sold 19.2 million shares at $18 per share, with the possibility to add another $50-plus million, as underwriters have a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 2.88 million shares of common stock at the public offering price.

Shares began trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on Aug. 7 under the stock ticker “LTGO.” Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, Jefferies, Leerink Partners and Guggenheim Securities are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering.

Shares closed at $18.25 on Aug. 7, a 1.3% gain from its opening share price.
