UMB Bank names new market president for California
UMB Bank, a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corporation, announced Allan Cellini as market president for California on Oct. 13.
Since joining UMB, Cellini has played a pivotal leadership role in growing the bank’s presence in the Central Valley, according to the press release. Prior to joining UMB, Cellini served as managing director for BMO and head of agribusiness for Bank of the West.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to build the UMB brand and business in California, as well as providing a face and voice in the community for the bank,” said Cellini. “There is so much opportunity in the market, and not only are we well-positioned for growth across the region, but we also have the team in place to make it happen while continuing to support our customers’ personal and business banking needs.”
UMB Bank first entered the California market at the start of 2025, when it completed its acquisition of Heartland Financial of Denver and, in doing so, added Premier Valley Bank to its portfolio, greatly expanding its California footprint.
Since that acquisition, UMB Bank has been positioning itself for growth, seeing a 4.3% increase in loan balances to $1.5 billion as of June 30.
“Our UMB leadership team, associates and California customers are thrilled to have Allan Cellini lead UMB Bank as California’s market president,” said David Andersen, regional president for UMB. “Since joining UMB, Allan has made a significant impact and brings a 30-plus-year career in banking, including 10 years leading local teams in California. Allan embodies UMB’s local leadership commitment within the Central Valley and coastal markets and is strongly committed to serving our UMB California communities.”
