Apple Senior Engineer Jeff Thoma will leave Silicon Valley to return to Silicon Beach.

Thoma will rejoin San Luis Obispo-based Thoma Electric as a principal engineer in April at a company his grandfather founded more than 50 years ago. Thoma Electric is an electrical engineering firm that provides construction, design engineering and consulting services throughout California.

Thoma’s dad, William Thoma, is the CEO of the company. According to a news release, Jeff Thoma was a hardware engineer at Kyocera Wireless in San Diego before he joined Apple in 2009.

Jeff Thoma said in the news release he is returning to San Luis Obispo because he likes the lifestyle in San Luis Obispo and that his wife Alexis is expecting their first child.
