AeroVironment lands Border Patrol contract

Simi Valley drone manufacturer AeroVironment secured a $5.25 million contract from the U.S. Border Patrol for its small Puma 3 unmanned aircraft systems. The Puma systems weigh 15 pounds and have a flight time of up to 2.5 hours. Delivery is expected to take place by January 2020, the company said in a news release…
