Unlicensed Ventura cannabis retailer to pay $75K fine

IN THIS ARTICLE

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced a settlement Oct. 26 that will require Green Bee Collective to pay $75,000 in civil penalties and restitution for operating an unlicensed cannabis delivery business in Ventura from 2014 through 2019.

Green Bee Collective was operated by Darius Bryan Behamata and Samantha Paige Harpoff-Alverson, who were also named in the civil case brought by District Attorney Erik Nasarenko’s office. According to the civil suit, Green Bee falsely claimed to have state and local licenses and failed to pay around $21,000 in state taxes.

In addition to the fines and restitution to the District Attorney’s Office and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, the settlement prohibits Green Bee from operating an unlicensed cannabis business or engaging in false advertising or violations of the state code in the future.
