Letter to the Editor: The role of BEAM in our community

IN THIS ARTICLE

Running a business can be challenging. Sometimes what a business owner needs most is someone who has been through it before, someone who can listen, offer an honest perspective and help work through a problem.

That is what makes BEAM (Business Empowerment and Mentorship) such a valuable resource for our community.

BEAM connects local entrepreneurs and small business owners with experienced business leaders who bring decades of experience as founders, executives and operators. Mentors work directly with business owners to help them clarify strategy, navigate operational challenges and move forward with confidence. BEAM’s mentoring is free, confidential and nonjudgmental, giving local business owners a resource they can turn to when they need experienced perspective and practical advice.

BEAM plays an important role in strengthening the entrepreneurial community across the South Coast. When experienced business leaders are willing to share what they have learned and entrepreneurs have access to that experience, everyone benefits.

When local businesses become more sustainable, they create jobs and contribute to a stronger and more resilient regional economy. Supporting entrepreneurs is an investment not only in individual businesses but in the broader business community.

BEAM is about making sure local entrepreneurs have someone in their corner. We believe that is something our community needs, and we are grateful to everyone who is giving their time and experience to make it possible.
